In February we printed the”Diary of Unborn Baby”.We mentioned spiritual adotion as one way of saving the unborn child.Actually,there are two paths: the Polish and the American.The latter path,suggested by Bishop Sheen,the former Archbishop of New York,is based on a period of 12months,the former,the Polish path is 9 months
Polish path is more condensed,requires 1 decade of the rosary,in addition to the regular daily prayer:”Lord Jesus Christ,Your Mother Mary,gave birth to You out of love,St.Josef was guardian.Through their intercession,I beseech You on behalf of the unborn baby,a baby adopted by me,to save it,which found itself in danger of extermination.I strongly beseech you to give its parents love and confidence that saving its life will allow it to fulfill Your holy will ! Amen”.Everything else is the same,an attitude of involvement,giving ,assured self-discipline,and participation not only in Sunday and Holyday Masses,but other devotions as well.Imagine an adopted baby,thinking about it with love,giving the baby a name,etc.How important is spiritual adoption,it may influence his future.One day,I received a call from someone named Barbara,who told me that her collegue from work is planning to have an abortion !No argument seemed to get through to her.I spoke to the individual,a Mass was celebrated for her intention,many people prayed for her.Even after all that,she went ahead with abortion.Another life was lost! Barbara and I tried to understand why it happened like this and not otherwise! Then Barbara remembered that,at one time she accepted spiritual adoption,but for some unknown reason she abondone it.And maybe here lies the key,the reason…?
